Every year, I speak at Veterans Day events,
such as this ceremony at the Texas
State Capitol. In the foreground is a replica of the Tomb of the
Unknown Soldier.
I support fully funding veterans’ health care, so that those who

to endure long waiting lists to get the benefits they have
earned.

Local business and community leaders from
Caldwell County joined with me to celebrate the grand opening of
Reyna’s Bakery in Lockhart.

The Claiborne Log House Fried Chicken
Dinner in Kyle is a tradition for Hays
County residents. I previously represented Hays County while
serving in the
Texas State Senate.

Huston-Tillotson University in Austin
recently dedicated the newly-renovated
Anthony and Louise Viaer Alumni Administration Building. The
building is also
the new home of the Bertha Sadler Means African-American
Heritage Resource
Center, a museum with interactive electronic exhibits profiling
African-American
history in Austin.

At a recent visit to the Fayette County
Fair, Jim and Terry Haueisen were kind
enough to serve as my escort in the parade.
