WASHINGTON, D.C.—FALEOMAVAEGA THANKS AMERICAN SAMOA BUSINESSES FOR SUPPORTING ASPIRE (11/6/2009)
Congressman Faleomavaega announced today that he wants to personally thank the business community in American Samoa for coming together in support of ASPIRE.  More than 18 business leaders wrote to Chairman Nick Rahall of the House Committee on Natural Resources offering their support and suggestions.  Faleomavaega submitted their letters at the hearing held on November 4 by the Natural Resources’ Subcommittee on Insular Affairs, Oceans, and Wildlife, and asked that they be included for the official record.   ...more »

Congressman Faleomavaega announced today that on October 28, 2009, President Obama signed into law, H.R. 2647, legislation to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2010 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for defense activities of the Department of Energy, and for other purposes including provisions to transition federal employees in the US Territories and possessions to receive locality pay.  ...more »

Washington, D.C.—Interior Appropriations Conference Report Now Includes $1.2 Million in Technical Assistance for American Samoa Tsunami Relief (10/28/2009)
Congressman Faleomavaega announced today that the conference report accompanying H.R. 2996, legislation making appropriations for the Department of the Interior, environment, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2010, and for other purposes, now includes $1.2 million in technical assistance for American Samoa for tsunami relief. Both the House and Senate are expected to approve the conference agreement on H.R. 2996, which provides funding for Operations, Covenant Capital Improvement Project (CIP) and Technical Assistance to American Samoa  ...more »
