The Military Environmental Responsibility Act (MERA) will be re-introduced by Congressman Filner soon!  This bill will uniformly require that the military comply with all environmental laws--just as they would be required to do if they were a corporation or a local government.  Until the military is forced to comply with our country’s environmental laws, public health and safety, as well as our environment, will be at increased risk from military pollution.
