Caucus Members to Participate in 2007 Leadership Summit in Chesapeake, Virginia

Members of the Congressional M&S Caucus will attend the Second Annual Modeling & Simulation Leadership Summit next week on Monday, February 26, 2007. This event, sponsored by the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA), brings leaders from government, industry and academia to discuss policies, issues, advancements and new ideas in the M&S community to enhance the ability of policymakers and industry leaders to deliver advanced M&S technologies into the hands of the users - soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines on the front lines in the War on Terror.

In discussions at the first annual 2006 summit, delegates produced designated issue areas of development for the M&S industry, which included action by the Congressional Caucus to encourage the current presidential administration to publicly acknowledge the importance of M&S. Congressman Forbes met with and also sent a letter to President Bush, underscoring the importance of his declaration of M&S as a “National Critical Technology,” and its importance to U.S. world economic leadership.

The summit provides key players within the M&S industry the opportunity to engage in a rare dialogue to facilitate the expansion of the M&S technology and business practices. Roundtable discussions at this year's summit will include issues such as industrial, technological and professional development. For more details on this year's summit, please click here.
