Lockheed Martin Team Awarded Contract for U.S. Air Force Air and Space Operations (AOC) Integration:

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall) -- The United States Air Force has selected an industry team led by Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) to be the Air and Space Operations Center Weapon System Integrator (AOC WSI). Under this multi-year contract, the team will work with the Air Force to standardize, modernize, sustain and transform the more than 20 AOCs worldwide into interoperable net-centric weapon systems that will provide commanders real-time, common operational views of the global battlefield. Modeling, simulation facing image face-lift

(SUFFOLK, Va. August 22, 2006) - The television series "L.A. Law" sparked a jump in law school applications. "CSI" did the same for criminal forensics. Computer modeling and simulation may never inspire a prime-time show, but a good public relations effort could help the industry grow in Hampton Roads, an industry official said Monday. Fighter Pilots Get Flight Hours in Simulators

(SUFFOLK, Va. – Feb. 7, 2006) -- For the first time, some U.S. fighter pilots are getting credit for the time they spend in simulators, not just in the cockpits of real jets. While pilots have used simulators for practice since the early days of flying, the U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command (ACC) only recently began to let simulator time count the same as flight hours. The ACC believes its simulators for the F-15C Eagle are realistic enough that some training done in them counts toward a pilot's official experience level. To read more, please click here.
