Welcome to the beautiful 14^th Congressional District of California. Located between the cities of San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and San Jose, the 14^th District includes portions of San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. The 14^th Congressional District is home to several major government agencies, including the NASA Ames Research Center, the 129^th Rescue Wing of the California National Guard, the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, the U.S. Geological Survey's Western Regional Office, and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy.

The 14^th District is the birthplace of Silicon Valley, world center of the information technology and biotechnology industries. It was here in 1939 in a Palo Alto garage that William Hewlett and David Packard started their firm, and nearly 60 years later, Larry Page and Sergey Brin met here at Stanford University and went on to found Google nearby. The electronics and technology industries continue to flourish, and leaders such as Oracle, Cisco, Lockheed Martin, Seagate, Sun Microsystems, VeriSign, E-Trade, Facebook, and host of other firms are headquartered here.

The 14^th District is also renowned for its vibrant coast. At its north end, the District includes Half Moon Bay, known for its famous Pumpkin Festival and the world-class Mavericks surfing competition. At its south end, the District includes a mix of active farm land, ancient redwood forests and spectacular coastline.

Our District is one of the most diverse, dynamic, and distinguished districts in the country!
