Question of the Week: Cap-and-Trade (Energy) Legislation

Jeff Lyon, left, is congratulated by Congressman Gallegly, center, on receiving the Congressional Gold Medal, June 21, 2006.

These questions are culled from phone calls, letters, faxes and e-mails sent to my Thousand Oaks, Solvang, and Washington offices. Each week I will add another question and answer.

Week of June 26, 2009

• Question: Did the Waxman Cap-and-Trade (energy) legislation pass and how did you vote on it?

→ Answer: H.R. 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, Rep. Waxman’s cap-and-trade legislation, passed on a vote of 219-212.

I voted no.

Please see my position on the bill that I posted in an earlier Question of the Week.

In addition, you may find more information about my positions on energy on my Energy Issues page.
