General Information

Most sites in Washington, DC, are open to the public, but a few require Congressional reservations. These sites include the White House, the Pentagon, the State Department, the Department of Treasury, and the Government Printing Office. Other popular sites, listed below, offer both Congressional reservations and public tours.

Tours fill rapidly, especially during the Cherry Blossom Festival, Spring Break season, and summer. If you are interested in a Congressional tour, please contact our Washington, DC, office by phone, fax, or e-mail as soon as possible.

White House Tours

The White House is perhaps the most popular site to visit in Washington, DC. Due to security concerns, public tours are no longer offered at the White House. All requests for tours must be made through our office, and we will then submit your request to the White House Visitor’s Office for you. However, please note that in most cases we will not hear from the White House until two weeks before your trip.

Requests for White House tours must be made at least two months in advance and may be made up to six months in advance. An early request greatly increases the likelihood of an approved tour; however, due to the thousands of requests the White House Visitor’s Office receives, we cannot guarantee that your request will be granted. While we make the request on your behalf, it is the White House who determines who receives a tour. It is especially important to submit the request months in advance if you wish to tour during peak seasons.

Please note: the White House Tour web site states that tours are given only to parties of 10 or more persons. However, if your group is less than 10 persons, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will do our best to arrange a tour for you, regardless of the size of your group.
