Harman Hosts Forum On Small Business Development

--“Small Businesses are critical to the South Bay economy
and need the support of the federal government.” --

WESTCHESTER - Rep. Jane Harman today hosted a forum on Small Business Development highlighting the federal resources available to assist local small businesses.

Representatives from more than a dozen federal, state and local agencies joined Harman and provided expertise and information to small businesses.

At today’s forum at Otis College of Art and Design, company executives learned about low interest and flexible loan programs and technical assistance opportunities with the U.S. Small Business Administration and how to identify export markets and develop and improve their business plan.

“Small and medium sized companies develop new business models and innovative solutions to the challenges that the digital economy present,” Harman told the audience of approximately 100 business owners.

“I am dedicated to helping you access the resources of the federal government. Today’s forum is designed to partner local businesses with federal resources to promote successful business practices and the South Bay’s economic growth.”
