March 03, 2002 Harman & Nakano Present New Flags To Vandalized Senior Center-- Offices Work Together Closely To Serve Community -- MANHATTAN BEACH - Congresswoman Harman and California State Assemblyman George Nakano (D-Torrance) today presented residents of a local senior citizen center with an American and California State flag. The two new flags, which have respectively flown over the U.S. and California capitols, replace one that was destroyed stolen when the Ross Manhattan Terrace Seniors Center recently fell victim to vandalism. After the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the residents of Ross Manhattan Terrance seniors housing complex proudly displayed their patriotism by flying flags in front of their residence. Vandals later stole the California flag, although the U.S. flag remained intact. Working with the offices of Congresswoman.
