Washington, D.C. - The deadline for applying to U.S. Representative Maurice Hinchey (NY-22) for a nomination to a military service academy is Friday, October 28. Nominations will be made for the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy and U.S. Naval Academy. Applications and supporting documents must be received at Hinchey's Ithaca office by that date in order to receive consideration.
Members of the U.S. House of Representatives may only nominate residents of the district they represent. Interested applicants must also apply directly to the academy of their choice to be considered for an offer of appointment. Each academy has its own application process in addition to and separate from that of the nominators. U.S. Senators may also make nominations for residents of the states they represent.
