Celebrating 7E7 Announcement with Boeing Employees
December 16, 2003

Today U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee joined hundreds of Boeing employees at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center to celebrate the company's announcement of Everett as the assembly location for the 7E7 jetliner. Seen here, Inslee (at podium) expresses his support at the celebration. To Inslees left are Washington State Governor Gary Locke, U.S. Senator Patty Murray and Mark Blondin, District 751 President of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW). Said Inslee,
"This decision is a testament to our tremendous and dedicated local workforce, incredible community support, and the State's long-term commitment to the Boeing family. This announcement is great news for our home communities, and also for our entire country. The choice to assemble the 7E7 in Everett is important to maintaining a competitive civilian aircraft industry in our nation. Our community has a long tradition with the Boeing family, and this decision will continue that tradition."

Inslee (middle right) signs a banner of support. To his right is Mark Blondin, President of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 751, and to his left Political Director Linda Lanham and U.S. Senator Murray.
