Dear Colleague:
As we reflect back on the tragedy of September 11, 2001, I would like to take a moment and inform you that the Commemorative Joint Meeting of the Congress of the United States: In Remembrance of the Victims and Heroes of September 11, 2001, book will be delivered to your office starting on Friday September 12, 2003.
In the 107th Congress, the House and Senate passed House Concurrent Resolution 487 which authorized the House to print a volume consisting of the transcripts of the ceremonial meeting of the House of Representatives and the Senate in New York City on September 6, 2002, statements from the Congressional Record subsequent thereto through December 31, 2002, and a list of those who lost their lives.
This volume is not only a tribute to those victims and their families, but a valuable historical document as well. Each Senator will receive 25 copies and each House Member will receive 15 copies.
