Washington, D.C. -- Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan is scheduled to testify on Wednesday, June 10, 1998, before the Joint Economic Committee (JEC), Chairman Jim Saxton (R-N.J.) said today. Monetary policy and the economic outlook will be the focus of the hearing.
"I am pleased to announce that Chairman Greenspan will again testify before the JEC as we approach a critical juncture in monetary policy," Saxton said. "Given the speculation about the direction of Federal Reserve policy and the prospect of interest rate increases, Chairman Greenspan's testimony will be extremely important."
