GREENSPAN HEARING ADVISORY UPDATE
-- Hearing Room Announced --

      WASHINGTON, D.C. – Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan is scheduled to testify on Thursday, June 17, 1999, before the Joint Economic Committee (JEC), Vice Chairman Jim Saxton (R-N.J.) said today. Monetary policy and the economic outlook will be the focus of the hearing.

      "I'm looking forward to this testimony of Chairman Greenspan on monetary policy and the economy," Saxton said. "The timing of this hearing will facilitate a thorough examination of the most recent economic data and their potential implications for future policy."
