2006 Floor Statements


Dec. 8 - Congressman Peterson rises in support of Senate-authored legislation to open up 8 million additional acres to oil and natural gas production. Though not nearly comprehensive enough, the congressman lauded the bill as an important first step in developing a national energy plan.


June 29 -The congressman leads the energy debate on the House floor, imploring his colleagues to
support the safe production of energy resources along our nation’s Outer Continental Shelf.


June 28 - Congressman Peterson spends time on the House floor during a recent debate dispelling the myth that marijuana is a harmless drug.


May 18 - Peterson voices his support for the annual spending measure appropriating funds to the Department of the Interior, Fish
