	Congressman Kildee presented Joe Schlaud with the Congressional Art Award in Washington, D.C. Joe Schlaud, a recent graduate from Lapeer West High School, won the congressional art award from the 5th District of Michigan for his oil pastel painting titled "Sunday Morning".
	Congressman Kildee presented the Igniting Creative Energy Challenge Award to Thomas-Jay Burgess during a reception in Washington, D.C. Thomas-Jay, a second grader at Weston Elementary School in Imlay City, MI, won an award from the National Energy Foundation for inventing a solar powered-oven made from recycled compact discs and tinfoil.
	Congressman Kildee met with staff and students from the Flint Genesee Job Corps Center during a recent visit to the district. Kildee was instrumental in the development of the Flint Genesee Job Corps Center by leading the effort to secure funding for the program.
