Jenna Lanzon of Linden High School in Linden, MI, won first place in the 2007 Congressional Arts Competition for her work Purple Aster. The Congressional Arts Competition is held in each of the 435 Congressional Districts to highlight the importance of art education. Her work, Purple Aster, will be displayed in the hallway of the U.S. Capitol for one year along with other qualifying pieces from every Congressional District in the nation. In addition, Jenna will be eligible to receive a $5,000 scholarship from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia to study at that school. |
