Most federal agencies have excellent Web sites with valuable information. Many questions you may have can potentially be answered on one of these sites, and I urge you to utilize that information. If the links below do not include the agency Web site you need, visit USA.gov, a Web site which provides links to every federal department, independent agency and government corporation.
In addition, Govbenefits.gov is a Web site that provides information on more than 1,000 free benefit programs, helping to reduce the amount of research needed to take advantage of government benefits and making them more accessible to all people.
Most frustrations in dealing with government agencies occur when we do not understand the onerous processes. Often when we know how to use it properly, government programs can work remarkable well. To ensure you are efficiently guided through the sometimes cumbersome processes, I have asked my staff to prepare a few guidelines to help you maximize the resources of the federal government through the use of my office.
In most cases, where we are requested to intervene, a Privacy Act form is required. It gives our office the permission to look at the records of your particular case and provides us a brief synopsis of your problem in writing, identifying your specific request. In order to help you, please complete, print, and sign this request for assistance and mail the form with your original signature to my office. The following areas in the right and left columns of this page are areas in which my office can offer assistance.
If you have been unable to get an answer from a federal agency in a timely fashion, or if you feel you have been treated unfairly, my office might be able to help. While we cannot guarantee you a favorable outcome, we will do our best to help you receive a fair and timely response to your problem. In order to help you, please complete, print, and sign the form below and mail it to my office.
