February
is Black History Month. As
Americans, I believe it is important for us to celebrate the
many different cultures that blend together to create the
one Nation of which we are proud to be a part. During
this month, I wanted to take time to recognize the accomplishments and
contributions of African Americans to our Nation.
On
March 29, 2007, Congressman Larson honors Connecticut
Tuskegee Airman, Flight Officer Connie Nappier Jr., of
Hartford
who received the Congressional Gold Medal for his
historic contributions in integrating the American military.
He is joined by his daughter, State Treasurer Denise
Nappier. Read
