Worker Retraining

No Worker Left Behind
The No Worker Left Behind free tuition program is an opportunity to prepare the state’s workforce for success in this changing economy.

Trade Adjustment Assistance - TAA
TAA is a program of the US Department of Labor that provides a variety of reemployment services and benefits to workers who have lost their jobs or suffered a reduction of hours and wages as a result of increased imports or shifts in production outside the US.

Workforce Investment Act - WIA
WIA provides increased flexibility for state and local officials to establish broad-based labor market systems using federal job training funds for adults, dislocated workers and youth.


Unemployment Resources

Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency - UIA
The Michigan UIA has several resources available to assist the unemployed in obtaining unemployment insurance compensation during their search for employment. Under the Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act, an additional $25 will be added to beneficiaries weekly payments and individuals can receive benefits for a maximum of 72 weeks.
