Credit Card Reform

Return to Economy

I hear from constituents every day who are struggling to make ends meet, and frustrated with excessive fees and arbitrary interest rate increases from their credit card companies. I have co-sponsored legislation for the last two Congresses to end many of these abusive practices. This long overdue legislation, the Credit Card Holders Bill of Rights, was signed into law by President Obama on May 22nd.

This bill will level the playing field by ending many of the abusive practices that outrage so many American families. A fact sheet on the new law is below.
