Keeping Our Promises to Our Nation's Veterans

I am working to ensure that the United States keeps its promises to the men and women who have risked their lives to defend our country. This means honoring our veterans and ensuring they have access to the quality healthcare and benefits they have a right to expect.
In 2007, the new Congress provided the largest annual increase in VA health care spending in 77 years, additional funding to hire 3,100 new claims process to work down the current benefit claims backlog, as well as enacted legislation to develop a comprehensive program to reduce the incidence of suicide among veterans.
