Sens Alexander and Corker along with Rep. Lincoln Davis, D-Tenn, this week met with Air Force officials in Washington, D.C. to promote Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, Tenn, as a potential site for the Air Force's new Common Battlefield Airmen Training Program.

Arnold AFB is in competition with Moody AFB in Georgia and Barksdale AFB in Louisana for the program, which is expected to train up to 14, 4440 airmen annually in ground-based combat survival skills and bring up to 800 jobs to the base. A decision is expected in January.

"Arnold is a cost-effective, logical dream that would offer the Air Force a seamless transition," said Rep. Davis, who has led the Tennessee delegation's push.
