Davis Keeps Promise to Seniors and Votes for Rural Prescription Drug Package "Not perfect, but is a start"November 22 , 2003

-- U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis today voted to strengthen rural hospitals while providing a much needed prescription drug benefit. This legislation will provide many seniors a funded prescription drug plan that does not make them choose between medicine and food.

"My district more than any other in Tennessee would reap the most benefits from this package," Davis said. "The money our hospitals will get was far too great for me to turn down. This is the best option Congress has given our rural hospitals in years. An increase will greatly improve the quality of care hospitals can provide."

Fourth District hospitals in fiscal years 2004 through 2007 will receive over $55 million and $118 million over a ten year span.
