October 06 , 2004

-- The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) announced U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis will be receiving its award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence for his support of its pro-growth, pro-manufacturing and pro-worker policy agenda in the 108th Congress.

"We must arm our industries with the necessary tools needed to expand and grow their businesses," said Davis. "I will continue to support legislation that helps the working men and women in my district by empowering our small businesses to negotiate affordable health plans for its employees and reducing the tax burden that has been placed on them."

NAM presents this award to members of Congress who achieved a rating of 70 percent or better on floor votes in favor of its pro-growth agenda. These votes are determined and approved in advance by NAM members who serve on the Key Vote Advisory Committee, in consultation with the NAM's staff.

In a letter sent to Davis, Ned Massee, Chairman, NAM Key Vote Advisory Committee and Michael Baroody, NAM Executive Vice President said, "Your favorable votes on key manufacturing issues helped advance the effort to maintain U.S. leadership in the global economy, expand economic growth and trade, and assist the private sector in creating jobs and raising living standards."

The non-partisan National Association of Manufacturers is the nation's largest industrial trade association representing small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states, and the millions of people who make things happen.
