Davis Announces Giles County Project Receives FundingNovember 20, 2004

-- U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis announced that H.R. 4818, the FY 2005 Omnibus Appropriations bill, contained funding for establishing a baccalaureate level nursing program at Martin Methodist College.

"The projects in this bill will do a lot for the Fourth Congressional District and the entire state. The projects will help create jobs, improve local infrastructure, fund our anti-drug forces, increase educational and health care opportunities, and protect some of Tennessee's most beautiful natural areas," said Davis.

The bill contained $300,000 to develop the infrastructure necessary to establish a nursing program that will focus on rural nursing care. The funds will provide library resources and the technology required to support Martin Methodist's goal of providing a baccalaureate degree in nursing.
