DAVIS KEEPS SEAT ON AGRICULTURE COMMITTEE January 11, 2007

--U.S. Representative Lincoln Davis today announced he will serve a third term in the House as the sole Tennessee member on the Agriculture Committee.

"Agriculture has been the lifeblood of our great country since its founding," said Davis. "2007 will mark a big year for the farming community as the committee will take up and renew the Farm Bill. I look forward to putting my experience as a farmer to use as an advocate for the farmers and rural people of the 4th District."

The Agriculture Committee will address the reauthorization of farm programs in the 2007 Farm Bill. The Farm Bill authorizes commodity support, agricultural trade, food assistance and safety inspection programs, and rural development policies for the next several years.

Davis has already been appointed to the House Financial Services Committee for the 110th Congress.
