HOUSE PASSES RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING LADY VOLS NATIONAL CHAMPION BASKETBALL TEAM April 25, 2007

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, the U.S. House approved a resolution cosponsored by U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis congratulating the 2007 Lady Vols basketball team for winning the 2007 NCAA Division 1 Women's Basketball National Championship. The Lady Vols defeated a formidable opponent in Rutgers University for the championship in Cleveland, Ohio.

"The Lady Vols, led by Coach Pat Summitt, are great role models not only for aspiring college athletes but for young people everywhere. During their championship run these student athletes demonstrated great poise, determination, work ethic, and sportsmanship," said Davis.

A similar resolution was approved by the Senate April 12th.
