Congressman Lincoln Davis Responds to State of the Union January 28, 2008

WASHINGTON, D.C. -After the completion of President Bush's final State of the Union this evening, Congressman Davis issued the following statement:

"Tonight, the President did a good job of highlighting some of the biggest challenges we face as a nation, namely a struggling economy and the war in Iraq."

"What we need are bold, forward looking strategies to strengthen and reaffirm our place as the greatest military and economic superpower around the globe, but the speech tonight offered little of this to Americans hungry for change. We need to get serious about turning our economy back towards a time of shared and unprecedented prosperity, and bringing a new direction for the war in Iraq."
