WASHINGTON, D.C. -Last night, tornadoes and fierce winds tore across parts of Arkansas, Mississippi, Kentucky and Tennessee, claiming lives and damaging property throughout Tennessee.
As of this morning, state officials are confirming 28 deaths in Tennessee. Congressman Davis has offered assistance to local officials in the district and made the following statement on the damage:
"For all who lost their life or that of a loved one, for any whose home the storm claimed, and for all those affected by this tragedy, my thoughts and prayers are with you today," said Congressman Davis. "I was pleased to see TEMA was on the ground and local officials coordinating so quickly to bring aid to all the victims of this storm, and I will certainly do all that I can to ensure that we are moving quickly to rebuild and restore our great state. My thanks go out as well to the churches, hospitals, and all those who opened their doors to save lives and give shelter in this hour of need"
