WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis has learned through the Department of Commerce that Crossville, Tennessee will be awarded a $1 million grant for waste water treatment plant improvements in the city.
"Grants like these are crucial to the everyday needs of average Americans in the state," said Congressman Davis. "I am proud to help Tennessee's small towns and rural areas win these grants to make life better for my constituents."
This grant will go towards construction of improvements to Crossville's wastewater treatment plant. These improvements will allow for the continued expansion of the city's economic base, which includes commercial, industrial, business and residential-related services. The nearly $5 million project will create as many as 200 jobs and leverage over $19 million in private investment. No other federal funding is currently allocated for this project.
Congressman Davis and his office routinely work closely with state and local officials on projects such as this in an effort to make the Federal Government work better for Tennessee citizens.
"We've been working on this for quite some time and have always had a good relationship with Lincoln Davis's office," said Crossville Mayor J.H. Graham. "Without his help, we would not have been able to secure this grant, which will go towards much needed improvements for waste water treatment for the city of Crossville."
