Statement on TVA Ash SpillDecember 30, 2008

Washington, D.C. U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis released a statement through spokesman Tom Hayden after touring the TVA spill site by helicopter:

"Our office has been in contact with the TVA and local elected officials since the accident occurred. Today, Congressman Davis toured the spill area and was briefed on the accident and what is being done to remedy the situation. During the briefing, Congressman Davis called on the TVA to take care of everyone affected in any way, be sure to prevent any toxins from getting into the water systems, and to present a plan to the public with solutions so this does not occur again. The TVA fully understands the gravity of this situation and is working diligently with local, state and federal officals and agencies to clean the spill. Congressman Davis appreciates all efforts being made to ensure the families affected are receiving the highest priority."
