Congressman Lincoln Davis Announces Appropriations Subcommittee AppointmentsJanuary 7, 2009

Today, Congressman Lincoln Davis announced his subcommittee assignments for the House Appropriations Committee in the 111th Congress. The Congressman will serve in the Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies and the Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development.

"This is a great opportunity for my district and for Tennessee," said Congressman Davis.

In the last Congress, Representative Davis was an advocate for Tennessee's needs in the Farm Bill as a member of the House Agriculture Committee. With his new role on the Agricultural Appropriations Subcommittee, Congressman Davis will be able to continue his advocacy for farmers, rural Tennesseans, and assuring our country has a healthy and safe food supply.

Congressman Davis is also pleased with his appointment to the Energy and Water Subcommittee, which has jurisdiction over the Department of Energy and the Appalachian Regional Commission.

"This assignment will allow me to have an impact on the 52 Tennessee counties that are part of the Appalachian Regional Commission, research at Oak Ridge and Tennessee's scientific community as a whole," said Congressman Davis.
