WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and U.S. Representative Marion Berry today announced that two local law enforcement agencies have received grants from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development program. The city of Holly Grove, AR, will receive $75,000 to make renovations to the City Police Department to improve safety services. In addition, Woodruff County will receive $30,000 to purchase vehicles for the Sheriff's Department.
"Local law enforcement must have the proper resources, equipment, and technology to ensure safety in our communities," said Lincoln. "I commend the Holly Grove City Police Department and the Woodruff County Sheriff's Office for seeking additional funding so they can continue to protect local families."
“It is critical that the federal government do all that it can to provide our law enforcement officials the tools they need to protect themselves as they work to keep our communities safe,” said Pryor. “I commend local officials for seeking this funding and know it will have a significant effect on the safety and well-being of eastern Arkansas.”
"This grant will help local law enforcement in their efforts to keep communities safe," said Berry. "These brave men and women are the first to respond to emergencies, and they need to have the best resources available to protect and serve local residents.”
