| County of Essex - Bridge Rehabilitation Project | |||
| Amount Requested: $16,000,000 | |||
|
These bridges are critical to the infrastructure of Essex and Hudson County, as well as New Jersey. They are critical connections for industrial and commercial traffic, commuters and shoppers. Absent the bridges, travelers will be forced to use already congested highways: Rts 1 & 9, 280, 3 or the New Jersey Turnpike. Funding for this project will create jobs for engineers, mechanical contractors, laborers and electricians. It will also protect the many commercial establishments, both large and small, that depend on these bridges to bring them business from having to close their doors. |
