Amount Requested: $5,000,000 Currently, when the Air Force sends an aircraft to deliver equipment near a battle area, information available during mission planning will be many hours or days old before the pilot completes the mission near hostile airspace. During that time, additional threats can present themselves, existing threat radars can move, or the same radar can be moved over several days, giving the impression that there are more threats in the area, thus denying flight path options. By having real time capabilities integrated with the capability available to the air crew, a current accurate battlefield view can be created for pilots Real time mission data will be able to be down loaded via Ethernet and made available to soldiers preparing for their mission. This funding would allow for the integration and flight demonstration of this advance threat alert (ATA) capability on an AMC C-130 aircraft.
