This project will explore novel approaches essential for developing cost-effective domestic battery technology and corresponding manufacturing systems and factories for next generation lithium ion batteries for the Department of Defense and civilian applications (including electrical vehicle markets).   It is essential that the Department of Defense not only utilize battery power sources but can do so affordably from reliable and secure U.S. sources.
