Amount Requested: $1,000,000 The requested funds will be spent to address the following goals enhancing solar application: double the efficiency of PV systems, halve the installed cost of solar energy systems, simplify solar system installation, and develop unique forms for use in urban environments. TSEC will allocate funds to promising PV businesses needing incentives to relocate to New York State, creating jobs in solar innovation.
The mission of The Solar Energy Consortium is to double the efficiency of photovoltaic systems, to halve the installed cost of solar energy systems, to simplify solar energy systems installation, and to develop unique photovoltaic forms for use in urban environments. The Solar Energy Consortium is a focal point of photovoltaic innovation, bringing together diverse constituencies to overcome technical and economic obstacles to the wide spread use of solar energy, helping create a sustainable world. TSEC has strong strategic alliances with industry and academia and will increase regional and state economic development by attracting and landing solar technology industry to New York State. TSEC will provide guidance to state, governmental, energy and economic development agencies on solar energy issues. TSEC will provide solar solutions by working with public and private entities, utilities, labor and our academic partners to analyze and overcome barriers to solar energy use on specific projects.
