Funds the design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction of two adjacent pieces of Farmington Road. This project aims to reduce traffic congestion on Farmington Road west of the Kinnaman Road intersection where the recently widened five-lane section ends, while also providing new and safer facilities for bicyclists and pedestrians. The project will include a five-lane section from Kinnaman Road to 185th Avenue that will be consistent with the existing five-lane section east of Kinnaman and will include travel lanes, a center-turn lane, bike lanes, a planting strip, and sidewalks, and a three-lane section from 185th Avenue to 198th Avenue with gravel shoulders. Widening the road will increase vehicle capacity, reduce traffic congestion, and ensure that an acceptable level of service is maintained on this road. The new bicycle and pedestrian facilities also would provide the connectivity needed to encourage increased use of these modes while reducing reliance on the automobile.
