Funds design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction of missing segments of the Westside Trail from Springville Rd. to the Tualatin River, improving trail system connectivity.  Funds will be primarily used to design and construct sections of 10-12 foot wide multi-use trail, although limited right-of-way acquisition may be needed in areas where topographical or environmental constraints require the trail to be located outside the existing right-of-way.  The project would encourage increased bicycle and pedestrian travel while reducing reliance on automobiles.  Improving the Westside Regional Trail system creates opportunities for roughly 120,000 residents living within a mile of the trail to reduce transportation costs and improve their health. Having a convenient, attractive, and safe trail system improves the overall livability of Washington County and helps attract new businesses and their employees to the area.
