It was getting a little crowded in the old office, so Congressman Jeb Hensarling and staff are making a move to a bigger space.
The new office is located at 702 East Corsicana Street in Athens, and will accommodate the congressman's current staff as well as recently hired new staff.
"In order to better serve the constituents in this area, we needed more staff, and more staff meant we needed more room," Hensarling's press secretary David Ward said.
The change is effective immediately. Hensarling's district manager, Richard Sanders, and other local staff members are already in their new digs.
"The new location is great," Sanders said. "The move went pretty smoothly and all our communication systems are online again. We invite everyone to come visit us."
Sanders said plans for an open house to formally establish the new office is in the works. Hensarling's local office and staff serve as liaisons between local citizens and various federal agencies.
"The top three issues we deal with in Athens are the VA, Social Security and Medicare," Ward said. "We try to help expedite the process of dealing with these agencies for citizens, to help them get the services they need faster."
All correspondence sent to the old address will be forwarded to the new office location. Hensarling encourages constituents to update their Rolodexes to ensure prompt service.
The office's phone number, 903-675-8288, will remain the same.
"I want East Texas residents to know that I have made every effort to ensure uninterrupted service during this transition," Congressman Hensarling said. "Please feel free to contact me at our new location if you need assistance or if you have any questions or comments about the work of the U.S. House of Representatives." |
