WASHINGTON, D.C.  -  Congressman Mike Rogers made the following remarks today in advance of Monday’s national day of remembrance recognizing the life and legacy of the late Civil Rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“As we once again honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., it’s important we remember him not only as a founder of the modern Civil Rights movement, but also as one of our nation’s greatest leaders.

“Indeed, Dr. King should serve as an example for us all.  He forever changed our nation through his faith and dedication to peace and equality, and we are forever indebted to him for his vision of a better and more just America,” Rogers said.
