Lincoln, Pryor, Berry Announce $4.8 Million for Local Airports

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and U.S. Representative Marion Berry (AR-01) today announced that several local airports will receive $4,822,491 in federal grant funding from the Federal Aviation Administration for various projects across Arkansas ranging from construction to rehabilitating runways.

“These funds will enhance the safety and security of air travel throughout our state while also boosting our local economies. I remain committed to ensuring Arkansas receives the resources and support it needs to stay strong,” said Lincoln.

“This federal funding will enable local airports to make the costly, yet critical repairs and improvements to stay in good, working condition,” Pryor said. “That’s just critical for safety and economic development.”

“Investing in our local airports is an effective way to build a strong economy in Northeast Arkansas," said Congressman Berry. "The more we invest in our transportation infrastructure, the more new businesses we are able to attract."
