| WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and U.S. Representatives Marion Berry (AR-01), Vic Snyder (AR-02), and Mike Ross (AR-04) today announced that the Community Health Centers of Arkansas (CHCA) will receive $295,982 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The funds will be used for training and technical assistance needs.
“Community Health Centers of Arkansas has a long history of expanding access to affordable, quality health care for all Arkansans, especially those who live in rural areas of the state. These funds will help keep CHCA staff members up-to-date through training and technical assistance. I’m pleased to see our state receive these funds, and I’ll continue to do all I can to ensure that Arkansans receive the highest quality of health care,” said Lincoln.
“With more Arkansans losing their health coverage every day, it is critical that we keep the doors open of the Community Health Centers of Arkansas so they can help meet the needs of our communities” said Pryor. “This funding will secure jobs and ensure the health and well-being of Arkansas residents.”
“Many Arkansans need help accessing quality health care and the Community Health Centers of Arkansas provide this valuable service,” said Berry. “This funding will provide additional training and assistance for CHCA employees, allowing them to provide better medical advice and services to their patients.”
“Providing high-quality preventative and primary care to medically underserved residents may add additional years of life for families in this great country,” said Snyder. “Funding community health centers invests in our health care infrastructure and is a chance for America to move forward, create some new jobs and do some good things for the American people.”
“Community Health Centers of Arkansas help extend adequate and affordable health care services to our small towns and communities,” said Ross. “I am pleased to join my colleagues in announcing these important funds to ensure that our health care professionals have the necessary training to best serve the needs of these communities.”
CHCA’s funds are provided through the Health Resources and Service Administration’s Bureau of Primary Health Care.
