WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and Representative Marion Berry (AR-01) announced today that Corning Area Healthcare, Inc., will receive a $134,983 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration. The funds will be used for Project REACH (Rural Education and Advancement of Children’s Health) to increase access to and coordination of quality health care services for children.
“These funds will help ensure that patients of Corning Area Healthcare receive the best health care possible,” said Lincoln. “Staff members of the facility will now have better access to the resources and equipment they need to provide high-quality, effective care. Their patients deserve no less.”
“For 15 years Corning Area Healthcare has served residents throughout Northeast Arkansas,” said Pryor. “These federal funds will improve and expand outreach of critical health services to patients in some of the most rural parts of our state.”
“Rural communities, such as Corning, have diverse and unique medical needs,” said Berry. “This funding will provide the facility with more resources to help residents obtain access to better health care in their community.”
