Lincoln, Pryor, and Snyder Announce $2.8 Million for Adams Field
Federal Funds Provided by New Economic Recovery Bill

Washington, DC – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and U.S. Representative Vic Snyder (AR-02) today announced today that the Department of Transportation awarded $2.8 million in grant funding for taxiway rehabilitation at the Little Rock National Airport.  These federal funds are among the state's allocations from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

"This grant will help ensure the safety of every air passenger who travels through Little Rock National Airport. These funds are exactly the kind of priorities the economic recovery bill should provide, and I am proud they are making their way to our state to strengthen our communities," said Lincoln.

"For over 77 years, Adams Field has provided Arkansas residents with a safe, reliable source of transportation," said Pryor.  "These economic recovery funds will not only make critical taxiway improvements, but also create needed jobs during this difficult economic period."

"Little Rock National is a vital part of Arkansas's economy and a necessity for family and recreational travel," said Congressman Snyder.  "These funds will help ensure that vital safety improvements are made to the taxiways."

The Little Rock National Airport, officially designated Adams Field, has offered commercial air service since June 15, 1931.  The grant will go towards taxiway repairs and improve the airport's infrastructure.
