Little Rock, AR– Congressman Vic Snyder will be hosting a reception tomorrow evening to announce the winner of the Congressional Art Competition for the Second District of Arkansas. The winner will be announced at 5:30 pm on Friday, May 8th, in UALR Fine Arts Building, Gallery III.

Each year the U.S. Congress sponsors the Congressional Art Competition. Students compete in a regional contest, and the overall winning piece of art from each district is displayed in a national exhibit located along a pedestrian walkway leading to the U.S. Capitol.
High school students who live in Arkansas's Second Congressional District--Conway, Faulkner, Perry, Pulaski, Saline, Van Buren, White, and Yell counties--participate in the competition.
The second district winner will be announced at the reception. Entries will be featured in a monthly exhibit at UALR. The winner will receive free airline travel to attend a Washington D.C. reception on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, as well as complimentary custom framing from a local professional.
