(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Representative Mike Ross (AR-04) today announced that he has hired University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff graduate Chazmon Gates to fill the role of Legislative Assistant in his Washington, D.C., office.
“As the U.S. Representative of Arkansas’ Fourth Congressional District, I am proud to welcome Chaz to our team,” Ross said. “Chaz will be a great addition to our legislative department and our entire office, and his talents and abilities will be an asset to the people of Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District.”
Chazmon Gates, graduated from UAPB where he received a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Communication. While in college, he served as President of the UAPB Student Government Association.
Some of Gates’ new responsibilities will include meeting with constituents and industry professionals and researching issues important to the district such as agriculture, military, veterans affairs and homeland security. He will also help develop legislation and brief Ross and the staff about issues coming before the House of Representatives.
Gates is currently pursuing his Masters of Arts degree in Government from Johns Hopkins University. Gates comes to the Ross office from Rep. Marion Berry’s (AR-01) office, where he served as a Legislative Correspondent. Gates is the son of Sandy Walker of Dallas, TX.
