Ross Meets with Delight Native Injured in Iraq

(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Representative Mike Ross (AR-04) photographed with Army Corporal John Slatton, native of Delight, during Ross’ visit Monday to Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C.

“It was an honor to visit with Army Corporal John Slatton and his family,” Ross said. “I am committed to supporting our troops in harms way and ensuring that this new generation of veterans returning home are provided with the best health care.”

Cpl. Slatton was injured while serving his country in Iraq and is recovering at the military hospital in Washington. He suffered a head wound when his unit, the 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, came under fire in Baghdad.

Ross thanked Cpl. Slatton for his service and presented him with an Arkansas Razorback cap and mug. Cpl. Slatton is 19 years old and the son of Kenny and Terrie Slatton of Delight. He had been serving in Baghdad since October and has received a Purple Heart for his service.
